Bully Prevention in the Minneapolis Public Schools

Minneapolis Public Schools are committed to being safe places for all students, families and staff.

MPS policy against bullying and harassment 

 

Our District Resource Staff include a Licensed School Counselor in the position of Social and Emotional Learning District Program Facilitator and a Pediatrict Nurse Practictioner School Nurse on Special Assignment as the Department Safe & Drug-free Schools Coordinator.

 

Staff members are available for:

 

  • Phone, electronic or in-person consultation with staff, students and families regarding Social and Emotional issues like bullying, cyber bullying, and violence prevention information and supports.
  • Staff, community and family presentations on Setting Boundaries for Prevention, Information Awareness, Responding to and Supporting Students Affected by Bullying, and other related topics upon request.
  • Staff consultation on setting up and managing School-Wide Bullying Prevention systems and programming.
  • Staff, community, and family presentations on the Second Step Violence Prevention Curriculum.
