What is 420? Myth has this number associated with all kinds of mysterious events, acts and people. The truth? The use of the symbol “420”-as it turns out, began as an appointed date and time for five friends in the 1970’s to get together and smoke marijuana. It has become a term which is recognized around the world as an enthusiastic endorsement of marijuana use. Because of this association, April 20-th (or 4/20) is celebrated by marijuana users –often by blatant use of the illegal substance.
